Chiang Mai Yoga: Our Yoga Classes in Chiang Mai are based on opening the body, with Yoga Asana for purification, relaxation and meditation. Working on integrity in your Yoga & meditation practice, will allow you to have a better and deeper Yoga asana connection and leading to a deeper meditation practices. Our Traditional Hatha Yoga classes are based on general Hatha Yoga Style with a blend of Iyenger Yoga for alignment, Ashtanga Yoga for development and stamina, Vinyasa Yoga for the Yoga flow, and Vini Yoga for internalization, allowing the Yoga student to work on harmonizing their breath, mind and inner core with the physical aspects of Yoga Asana practice, helping to improve overall Yoga practice and energy flow, body and mind. The yoga session held at Body and Mind Healing offers a method of Yoga, which allows the Yoga student to go into more deeper aspects of their Yoga practice, bringing the external and internal elements of Yoga into balance, therefore we also focus on the meditation aspects of Hatha and Raja Yoga, to help the student further develop their spiritual aspects of what Yoga practice has to offer.

Hatha & Raja Yoga Chiang Mai

(Vinyasa Krama Hatha Yoga /Raja Yoga)

Body and Mind Healing's Hatha Yoga classes, are open to all yoga levels and the focus is on posture alignment, body, mind, breath awareness and yoga meditation. Our yoga classes are based on traditional hatha yoga and integrate a yoga vinyasa flow with the standing yoga poses, we focus on yoga postural alignment, the breath, a period of mediation to deepen our yoga experience, yoga practice and awareness. Our evening yoga classes are yoga intermediate level or for those wishing to improve their yoga practice, therefore some experience in yoga will be of benefit for our evening yoga drop in classes, we work on the fundamental yoga poses without going too extreme, so those with good flexibility may join, if they have minimal yoga experience, we do recommend complete yoga beginners, to join our 5 day Chiang Mai Yoga Beginners Course. 

Your resident yoga instructor Rod at Body & Mind Healing, has practiced yoga meditation for 25 years and only took up yoga teaching training after 9 years of personal yoga study. The classes are focused on Traditional Yoga and Dynamic Yoga, including Raja Yoga Meditation. Rod has be certified to teach Dynamic Yoga by its founder, Godfrey Devereux and has also been certified by the Parmath Nikitan ashram in Rishikesh India. The yoga poses offered in our yoga classes in Chiang Mai have an element of dynamism, plus offering a direct awareness to the Yoga poses practiced, which can help regular yoga practitioners to deepen their Yoga, plus allowing your Yoga teacher to guide each student deeper into those yoga poses in a centered and dynamic way, while allowing the Yoga student to relax into their inner core. Utilizing the concepts of Vinyasa Krama Yoga and Iyenger yoga for it's yoga postural alignments, allowing you to practice yoga safely and with a deeper respect to yourself and your yoga practice.
