I enrolled in a beginner yoga course and I am truly grateful that I did . I feel a door has been opened . I took my time finding a place and I have to say that I'm glad I settled on Chiang Mai Mind and Body school . Rod is an amazing " yogi " with much patience in his teaching skills . It is very obvious the wisdom he has . He is very thorough and takes the time to correct and show you the right way in your asanas. He also helped to make me feel relaxed . "Great intro to Yoga for a beginner” Yoga Chiang Mai

I completed the beginners yoga course with Rod. I am a complete beginner. I liked his teaching style as I felt very welcome, there to learn. Rod has a good sense of humour and good at keeping focus. The course builds everyday, and goes over each days new poses. Though young, I'm not very flexible at all. Rod was helpful to challenge me, but not push over my limits. This has made me determined to achieve goals in completing each pose to it's fullest potential. The facility is nice and airy. A lovely spot. A mat and other equipment was provided. I was the only participant as it was over Christmas, it was very generous for Rod to not cancel, which I appreciate. Would certainly recommend. I look forward to continuing yoga and will return here should I be back in Chiang Mai. 

What is Yoga

Yoga means to join together or union. When one practices Yoga it brings all bodily functions and upper and lower energies (lunar and solar) into harmony. Yoga practice enables one to transcend duality through conscious action and awareness working on the physical and metaphysical levels. Hatha yoga which involves physical movements called Asanas (postures) with breath and concentration, promotes health and well being when practice regularly and correctly. Yoga helps to eliminate the stresses of life, it rejuvenates the mind and body soothing the nervous system, activates the glandular system, nourishes the organs, tones the muscular system and strengthens the bones. Hatha Yoga prepares the body for the more advance practices of yoga and meditation.
